Iren Koster

Iren Koster was born in the Bronx, New York.

At the young age of five, Iren was considered a musical prodigy and had his first musical recital on violin at Carnegie Hall.

He followed his musical path through Juilliard and became a prolific songwriter, writing songs for over a hundred artists and accumulating a few platinum albums.  He later became a recording artist and his single “We Won’t Say Goodbye, John” a tribute to John Lennon, sanctioned by the Beatles Fan Club, sold millions of copies in over 28 countries throughout the world.

Iren loved films as much as his music.  He wrote his first screenplay in 1991 selling it for $500,000 to TriStar Pictures.  He repeated his success, selling another script to 20th Century Fox for an equal amount a couple years later.

He produced his first film “Hugo Pool” starring Sean Penn, Robert Downey Jr., Malcolm McDowell and Alyssa Milano in 1997.  The film is considered a cult classic.

Koster later went on to write, produce and direct Dead End, My Gardener and Mustang Sally’s Horror House.  He is currently developing P.S. I Hate You, a family comedy and The Adventures of Mutt and Jeff - a family comedy adventure.

Koster is the son-in-law of the legendary comedian, Phi Silvers. (Sgt. Bilko)
